WWW Wednesday (5th June 2013)

WWW Wednesdays is hosted by Should Be Reading.

To join in all you need to do is answer the following three questions:

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

Wow, I haven't done a WWW Wednesday post in such a long time!

Oh well, here is what I have been up to lately:

* What am I currently reading? At the moment I am reading The Talisman which is taking me ages to get through because even though it's a great book it moves along quite slowly.
I also recently started reading World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War because I really want to get it finished before the movie comes out.

* What did I recently finish reading? I recently finished reading The Fallen Angels Book Club for a book tour so my review will be up for it next week.
I also just finished The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1) which I am still in the process of deciding whether I actually liked it or not.
Also, I recently finished listening to the audio version of 1984 and I still feel a little unclean every time I think about it. Has anyone else had this experience with this book?

* What do I think I'll read next? Next I'm planning on starting Under the Dome as part of the readalong I posted about here currently going on the get it finished when the new mini-series starts. I'm also planning on starting The Passage (The Passage, #1) sometime soon this month as part of a Goodreads group buddy read.

What have you been up to lately?

Michelle

    1. I'm trying to get to it! I'm just so hesitant because it's such a chunker and I'm scared of getting lost in it for weeks and getting nothing else done!

  2. Love all of those choices!
I'm a HUGE fan of World War Z. I really loved that book and how horrifying it was. I'm not looking forward to the movie, though, because it looks completely different. =(
I loved The Raven Boys and I'm eager to devour anything by the author because I enjoyed her writing style.
I hope you enjoy The Passage. I loved the premise a lot, but if you're a King fan, you might not enjoy it. A few people have said it's "like" The Stand except with vampires and it's not as good. (I disagree, though it is similar to The Stand in style.)

    1. Yes, I'm really enjoying World Was Z at the moment. It's a completely different writing style which is actually refreshing for a change.
I'm mainly just looking forward to the movie because of Brad Pitt :-)
I've heard The Passage referred to being similar to The Stand a lot which is why I want to try it. I've never read anything by Justin Cronin before so am interested to see what his writing style is like.
Thanks for becoming a new follower :-)

  3. I have a little trouble with George Orwell as well, I understand exactly what you mean! I would love to know what you think of World War Z - it's on my TBR shelf! Great blog - I love the little beagle :)

    1. Yes, George Orwell is definitely one of those authors whose books stay with you long after reading. The same thing happened to me when I read Animal Farm.
I'm definitely enjoying World War Z so far!

  4. I read George Orwell years ago, but I remember being quite disturbed by the book. It has always stayed with me. My WWW: http://gwynnethwhite.blogspot.com/

    1. I hope so too. Being that it's written by my favourite author there's a pretty good chance I will like it :-)
