My Thoughts:
Pledged is the story of two teenagers, Seth and Erin, who are thrown together on a journey across South Africa when their siblings meet and decide to get married.

This journey turns out not to be as innocent as they initially thought and they soon get thrown into an ancient world where they discover they are soul mates destined to be together but are kept apart by a 'curse' which they need to find out how to break to live happily ever after.

Pledged is full of supernatural events, time travel, adventure and fantasy all mixed into a current point of view.

At first I was extremely excited to start reading Pledged but soon felt a little lost like I was missing some important point to the story.

It was a very fast paced story full of twists and turns which sometimes went a little too fast for me to keep up but it did all came together and became clear in the end.

I must admit that the characters didn't have the depth that I would have liked in a story like this. Also, sometimes certain situations seemed to be a bit over-described whereby there wasn't enough of a description in other key scenes to make me feel completely at ease with what was going on.

Overall, I did really like the whole back story behind Pledged and thought it was original and interesting. There is a cliffhanger ending that leaves the reader wanting to know more so I'm definitely interested in reading the next instalment when it is released.
